Armstrong is currently president of the organization. “AWW was born out of the necessity for true wildlife conservation and love of animals,” he explains. AWW conducted its first self-funded pilot trip in late 2016 to the Laikipia Nature Conservancy located at the edge of the Great Rift Valley in Northern Kenya. The organization seamlessly integrated with the Gallmann Africa Conservancy and its mission of sustainable conservation. With a workable model, AWW strives to unequivocally affect animal conservation efforts for the better. With this success, AWW moves forward and continues to help the conservancy’s parks and reserves alike. Armstrong, now living in Cambridge, United Kingdom, is married to fellow Air Force veteran Melissa Armstrong and the couple recently welcomed their first child, Nova Abella Armstrong. “I am who I am and where I am today because of the myriad of people who have helped me in life,” he says. “I would be nothing without the love, guidance and support of my family and friends.” For more information about AWW, visit ambassadorsofworldwildlife.org. ■
