Bark for Books
Benefits Mars Area
Public Library
It was a barking good time at the
Bark for Books Library Dog Walk at
Adams Township Community Park. The
event was hosted by the Friends of the
Mars Area Public Library. Cute canines
of every size and shape, along with their
owners, were treated to a walk on the
1.3-mile park trail, lunch, gift basket
raffles and doggy-themed gift bags.
“The funds raised from Bark for Books
will go toward library materials, children’s
programs and other services,” says
Vince Gadrix, Mars Area Public Library
director. “We’ve had a lot of enthusiasm
today and hope to make the dog walk an
annual event.”
The Friends of Mars Area Public Library
is a volunteer, nonprofit organization that
provides essential assistance to the library
by coordinating and participating in
book sales, raffles, and other fundraisers;
purchasing materials and equipment
not provided by the library budget; and
assisting with special events and programs.
