MLL Season Preview: Boston Cannons

2012 Record: 9-5; Lost to Chesapeake in Playoffs

Opens: At New York

Stadium: Harvard Stadium

2012 Leading Scorer: Paul Rabil

Boston got over the hump with a championship two years ago; in 2012, not so much. They struggled at times throughout the season at positions they normally don't, and then they fell in the first round to Chesapeake. If not for two late wins over Ohio, they don't even make the playoffs. They added Colin Briggs who is an interesting offensive player, but other than that their roster is mostly in tact. Boston should be a top team in this league once again, but they could use two positions; backup faceoff man with John Ortolani out, and a reliable backup goalie for Jordan Burke. Martin Cahill is now gone after a disappointing 2012 campaign, and Brad Ross is still gone after that trade. Can they make up that offense? Maybe Briggs can help add to that. Boston opens up at New York to start the season on April 28th.
