WHAT’ S NEWS IN KEYSTONE OAKS
CASTLE SHANNON COMMUNITY DAY 2026!
Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 30, 2 to 10 p. m., for Castle Shannon Community Day. It will take place at Lower Hamilton Park. You won’ t want to miss one of the biggest events of the year for the borough, featuring food trucks, live music, vendors and local businesses!
Another community event this summer, called Pour in the Park, will be held Friday, July 17, from 6 to 9 p. m. It will also be at Hamilton Park and have live music, food trucks, wineries, breweries, a cigar bar and non-alcoholic drinks. This will be a kidfriendly event!

GREEN TREE GARDEN CLUB
The weather’ s warming up and it’ s time to garden! The Green Tree Garden Club( GTGC) is 55 years old this year. It’ s a very active group, with 82 members who love to grow beautiful things.
The GTGC has interesting programs every month, and fun activities throughout the year, including the annual Spring Festival in May.
GTGC also engages in community projects, which include maintenance of Municipal Center Park’ s perennial, rose, herb, children’ s and presidential gardens. The group also helps out with seasonal decorations in the Municipal Center and the Green Tree Public Library.
You needn’ t have a large outdoor space to enjoy gardening— just a heart for growing plants, flowers and community!

STANDOUT STUDENT!
Keystone Oaks student Kira Voichenko recently was selected as the winner of the PA Department of Labor and Industry’ s Outstanding Registered Pre-Apprentice Achievement Award.
Kira is a junior at Keystone Oaks High School, and has won the award after just having immigrated from Ukraine four years ago in 2022!
During her first year of school here at Keystone Oaks Middle School, Kira attended a meeting for the school robotics team and signed up. She took classes in engineering and computer-aided drafting at KO.
Kira hopes to continue her studies after graduation in engineering. Congratulations to her for a remarkable accomplishment!
CASTLE SHANNON VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT
Volunteer firefighters answer the call to care for their neighbors. They give of their time, talent and hearts to help protect the people of their community.
If you would like to join a fire department that has a tradition of service since 1922, contact the Castle Shannon VFD to learn more about the requirements for becoming a firefighter.
