STAR WARS DAY Join us on Saturday, July 21, from Noon to 3 p. m. for a Star Wars adventure. Sign up in person starting Thursday, May 31, for a chance to win a foam light sword. Enjoy games, crafts, an obstacle course and more. The 501st will be available for character pictures and we would love to see everyone’ s costumes. There will be a raffle for lifesized droid cutouts. All ages are welcome. ADULT SUMMER READING PROGRAM
Summer Reading for adults begins on Monday, July 2, and runs through Monday, Aug. 6. Our theme is Libraries Rock. Each participant will receive a goody bag and a“ rock garden” to complete throughout the summer. Turn in your rock garden by Friday, Aug. 10, for a chance to win great prizes. Reading books and attending programs will earn rocks for your garden. We have some great programs planned, so be sure to stop in and register starting July 2.
WOMEN’ S GOLF OPPORTUNITIES IN THE SOUTH HILLS
Fairway Swingers
Are you a woman interested in playing golf in a fun, non-competitive environment? Then consider joining Fairway Swingers, a women’ s golf league that plays weekly at the Mt. Lebanon Golf Course. Every Thursday starting in April through most of October, the group plays 9 holes, beginning anytime between 7:30 and 9 a. m. A round of golf usually takes about 2 to 2.5 hours. Ladies of all golfing abilities are welcome and you don’ t have to have playing partners.
There are some fun events throughout the year such as a day away( playing a course other than Mt. Lebanon), mixers, a picnic, and some tournaments. Dues for the year are $ 22 and members also pay green and cart fees, which are $ 22( under age 62) or $ 18( age 62 and over). You do not have to be a Mt. Lebanon resident to join.
