South Hills Children’s
Choir Delights
Audiences with ‘Across
the Sweeping Tundra’
“Wide, worn, and weathered, sacred
expanse...”
The Tundra, a vast, frozen region
of stark beauty, is captured in its
namesake song by Norwegian
composer Ola Gjeilo, and the South
Hills Children’s Choir along with
special guests the Cygnus Quartet,
string players of Pittsburgh Youth
Symphony Orchestra, explored its
sacred, stunning, and silvery sounds
at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. The
SHCC is a nonprofit choir dedicated
to offering quality musical education
for children from all walks of life in
the surrounding community and
celebrating diversity, both in music
and in youth.
