Because of the rarity of the diseases, it is not very common to come across an in-home care agency or caregiver that has had experience working with PSP, CBD or MSA. Familiarity with Parkinson’ s disease and other neurodegenerative diseases is helpful, but there are unique care needs to be mindful of with PSP, CBD or MSA. Explain the diagnosis to the caregiver( s), including the person’ s symptons and care needs associated with the disease, such as blood pressure regulation, swallowing safety, impulsivity, vision issues, urinary function or use of ambulatory equipment.
