EHCA ( Erie Homes for Children and Adults , Inc .) is thrilled to announce our newest home on Knoll Road in Harborcreek !
This is all thanks to the generous vision and support of a gracious donor who made this dream possible .
EHCA - Erie Home for Children and Adults BS
EHCA , founded in 1912 , is an Erie-based nonprofit serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities . We have grown to serve over 600 individuals across 3 counties . Our mission is to provide a life full of hope , promise , and care . This new home fulfills this as it offers state-of-the-art care for five individuals in a home setting .
Those familiar with EHCA ’ s Harborcreek presence might know that we also have a home on Saltsman Road . This brand new home will replace our Saltsman Road residence . We have loved our time there but have outgrown the home ’ s ability to best serve our individuals . We have big plans for Saltsman Road , though , and encourage Harborcreek residents to follow our social media and website for information about its future .
Our new home is conveniently located near many shops and restaurants in Harborcreek . It is a true “ community ” home as it even employs a neighbor as one of our wonderful team members lives across the street !
This new addition to the EHCA family wouldn ’ t be possible without many supporters . We ’ re incredibly grateful to Lake City Builders and the 30-year partnership we ’ ve had . We ’ re also indebted to our fantastic employees who provide the best care for our individuals every single day .
All of us at EHCA are incredibly grateful to the warm reception we ’ ve already received from the Harborcreek community - especially our Knoll Road neighbors .
“ EHCA is both proud and excited about this new home on Knoll Avenue . Not only do we build new state-of-the-art homes for our growing client base – we also have a process to repurpose and replace older homes such as Saltsman to be used for other program needs .
This new replacement home on Knoll will be the first of many to ensure our overall facilities continue to be the most accessible , safe and inviting for our clients , their families , the neighborhood and the entire community .” Charles Walczak , CEO of EHCA
