BAKERY OFFERS DAILY BREAD & MUCH MORE
3 Grahamville Street • 814.490.0885
Behind the warm aromas drifting through 3 Grahamville Street is a recipe years in the making. Barb and Joe Bretz, the owners of the Bretz Bakery in North East, have built their business on faith, family, and a whole lot of dedication.
For Barb, baking started at home. Even while working full-time and raising five kids, her mom made everything from scratch— and passed that passion along. That foundation led Barb to spend 11 years running a licensed home bakery in Harborcreek, navigating limitations while perfecting recipes and building a loyal customer base.“ Without them, I wouldn’ t be where I am today,” she says.
What Barb and Joe are most proud of isn’ t just their baked goods, which include an ever-changing variety of cookies, brownies, muffins, quick breads, pies, pastries and more, it’ s the journey. The bakery exists thanks to prayer, patience, and unwavering support from their church, family, friends, and community.“ It was through a lot of praying and waiting on the Lord for guidance and direction,” Barb shares.“ I truly believe He led us exactly where we needed to be.”
Their most popular items? Cinnamon rolls and pepperoni cheese bread— so popular they can barely keep up with demand. Other items customers also love are the wide variety of cookies and cream puffs made fresh daily.
While North East wasn’ t originally part of the plan, it quickly became clear it was the right fit. After years of sourcing fruit from local farms in the area, Barb happened to run into Jan Culp while picking peaches. When Jan mentioned she was retiring and selling her building, things fell into place.“ Before you know it, we bought it— and here we are,” Barb says,“ the location is perfect for welcoming workers from Welch ' s during breaks or before or after shifts.” Despite a few early setbacks, she remains confident.“ The Lord is good all the time. His way is perfect.”
Since opening on Jan. 12, the response from the community has been overwhelmingly positive, filled with kind words, encouragement, and excitement for the new bakery.

DOMINO ' S DELIVERS MORE THAN PIZZA
10 E. Main Street • dominos. com • 814.347.6996
For nearly a decade, the building at 10 E. Main St. sat vacant, an eyesore on a block of downtown North East that boasts other bustling businesses.
That changed when Mohammend Kayani saw the potential in the property, opening a Domino ' s Pizza in late December 2025.
This store marks Kayani ' s sixth Domino’ s location, joining five others he owns— including four in Pittsburgh and one in Corry.
Bringing the North East Domino’ s to life was a journey that required persistence and patience. The planning phase took about six months, during which Kayani worked closely with the Domino’ s corporate team to secure the right location and complete the initial groundwork. Construction and final build-out took an additional eight months, with some delays caused by contractor changes along the way. Despite these challenges, the store officially opened as a polished final product ready to take its place along Main Street to serve the community. But that ' s not what the business partners behind the franchise are most proud of.
Business partner Shashank Reddy Gattu states,“ Domino’ s is all about opportunities. I became a franchise owner after starting as a regular employee. I want people from this community to know that they can start here and build a better future for themselves.”
North East stood out as a location with strong growth potential and a welcoming atmosphere. According to Gattu, the community support was positive even before the store opened, making it a natural choice for expansion.
The store’ s most popular menu item is the People’ s Pizza Deluxe— a savory combination of pepperoni, Italian sausage, green peppers, mushrooms, onions, provolone, and 100 % real mozzarella cheese. Other fan favorites include loaded tots, oven-baked sandwiches, pasta, bread, chicken wings, and more.
Business Hours: Sunday – Thursday: 10:30 a. m. – midnight Friday – Saturday: 10:30 a. m. – 1 a. m.
