SPRING GARDENING!
If you love growing things, and would like to be part of a group that shares this devotion, you may want to consider becoming a member of the Lawrence Park Garden Club.
The club has meetings throughout the year and special events, and works to beautify the community and encourage home gardening. For more information, visit the group’ s Facebook page.
SLEDDING ANYONE?
The sledding hill is open at the Mellon Heritage Foundation 4NINE Park! Kids have already been enjoying gliding down the hill on cold wintry days.
The hill is just a part of the overall plan for the park, which will ultimately include a pavilion with restrooms, a synthetic ice rink, accessible trails, paved and naturalsurface trails, the College Pond Wetland Overlook, a meadow and orchard, and an undisturbed forest area. More parking will also be added, and the sports fields will be preserved.
The park will be a fun place to visit for people of all ages and abilities, including veterans, seniors, families and small children.
As the plans progress, we will include more information in future issues!
THE CULTURAL LOOP
