The library will debut a new craft project
for the whole family to enjoy on Monday
afternoons. No registration is required
Baby Playtime
Tuesdays, Jan. 8 to Feb. 12; Feb. 26 to
March 19, 10:30 to 11 a.m.
Come and enjoy a half hour of fun with
your baby! We’ll share songs, finger plays,
stories and rhymes. Meet other parents
and their babies, and enjoy some special
time together. This program is intended for
babies ages 0-18 months and will be held
on Tuesdays. One-time registration for the
series of six classes is required.
Toddler & Preschool Fitness
Tuesdays, Jan. 8 to Feb. 12; Feb. 26 to
March 19, 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Is your toddler/preschooler wearing you
out? Burn off some of that energy – and
help keep yourself in shape! Try some yoga,
obstacles, jumping and light jogging. A
series of six classes will be held on Tuesdays
at 11:30 a.m. One-time registration for the
series of six classes is required.
Toddlers Just Want to Have Fun
Wednesdays, Jan. 9 to Feb. 13; Feb. 27 to
March 20; Thursdays, Jan. 10 to Feb. 14;
Feb. 28 to March 21, 10:30 to 11:15 a.m.
Be prepared to move, dance, run around,
and share stories and songs with our
busiest friends! For toddlers (18 months
to 31/2 years) and their parents—siblings
are welcome. One-time registration for the
series of six classes is required.
Preschool Storytime
Wednesdays, Jan. 9 to Feb. 13; Feb. 27 to
March 20, 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
A storytime for our graduating toddlers.
Longer stories, exciting new rhymes and
songs but still all the fun. For families with
preschoolers ages 31/2 to 5 years old. One-
time registration for all six classes.
Nature-ology
Tuesday, Jan. 8, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Polar Opposites – Why hasn’t a polar bear
ever eaten a penguin? Easy: they live
12,000 miles apart! Let’s look at the other
animals, too, that have chosen opposite –
cold! – ends of the Earth for their homes.

Improv for Kids
Tuesday, Jan. 15, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Ages:
6 to 12.
Theater games are for anyone looking to
improve confidence, gain focus and add
positivity into their daily life. While having
fun and making new friends, children will
improve their listening skills, collaborate
with peers and spark their imaginations.
Sheri Ward leads this one-hour workshop
helping children learn to unlock their inner
creativity in a fun and supportive place.
No experience required. Registration is
required.

Amphibians – They left the planet’s watery
home and grew lungs! Why, for goodness
sakes? And why did they still need to return
every year? We’ll talk about frogs, toads
and salamanders this month in Nature-

Norther Tier Library Chess
Tournament
Saturday, March 9, 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Join us for the 46th Annual Library Chess
Tournament. Competition will be held on
two levels: the Junior Division for grades
K to 4, and the Senior Division for grades
5 to 8. The winners in each division will
represent the library in the Allegheny
County Chess Tournament held in late
March. Registration is free. Please stop by
the library anytime before the event to fill
out a registration card or call 724.449.2665
