INGOMAR GARDEN CLUB MEETINGS
The Ingomar Garden Club holds meetings on the first Wednesday of the month— March through November— at Northmont Church, located at 8169 Perry Highway. RECENT STATE FUNDING ANNOUNCED
State Rep. Arvind Venkat announced more than $ 1.3 million in state grant funding for infrastructure improvements and public safety projects across the northern Allegheny County area, including McCandless, Hampton Township, Ohio Township and Emsworth.
More than $ 1 million was awarded through the Small Water and Sewer Grant Program to support critical stormwater and sewer upgrades, including sanitary sewer rehabilitation in Hampton Township, storm sewer lining in McCandless, stormwater improvements at the Ohio Township EMS & Fire Training Facility, and storm sewer repairs in Emsworth.
These projects aim to address longstanding infrastructure needs and improve community resilience.
In addition, the Ingomar Volunteer Fire Company in McCandless received $ 308,000 in grant funding from the Department of Community and Economic Development to purchase a new radio system, allowing firefighters to connect to Allegheny County’ s updated emergency communications network.
Rep. Venkat noted that this funding will enhance safety and strengthen coordination among first responders throughout the region.
ST. MARGARET FOUNDATION GRANTS BENEFIT HAMPTON AND SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES
St. Margaret Foundation announced $ 957,425 in grants for 2026, including funding that directly benefits area residents through patient access and transportation services.
One of the foundation’ s Free Rides for Seniors shuttles serves Hampton and surrounding communities, providing reliable transportation to medical appointments, grocery stores and essential services— helping seniors remain independent and connected to care.
Additional grant funding supports patient experience and education initiatives at UPMC St. Margaret, including safety improvements, adaptive equipment, rehabilitation resources and financial assistance for under-resourced patients.
Together, these investments reinforce the foundation’ s mission to“ fill in the gaps” for local patients and families facing health-related challenges.
SENIOR SOFTBALL LEAGUE REGISTRATION OPENS
Registration is now open for the 2026 season of the Northern Allegheny County Senior Softball League( NACSSL). NACSSL is a competitive slow-pitch senior softball league featuring 20 teams and approximately 280 players across three age divisions: 50 +, 62 + and 71 +.
Tryout evaluations will be held in March and April. League games are played from May through August, primarily at the North Park Senior Softball Complex at the Lodge in North Park.

CARNEGIE MUSEUMS TO OFFER SUMMER CAMPS
Carnegie Museums of Art and Natural History have announced the return of their summer camps, offering a variety of weeklong programs for children and teens starting in June.
Camps run June 8 through Aug. 21, Monday through Friday, with full-day options for ages 6 – 13, half-day camps for ages 4 – 5, and specialized teen programs for grades 9 – 12 through the Youth Art Studio.

JOIN IN THE FUN OF PITTSBURGH MARATHON WEEKEND!
Registration is open for the 2026 DICK’ S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon Weekend, May 1 – 3. The threeday celebration offers events for all ages and ability levels— from the full marathon and half marathons to walking divisions, relay races, fitness challenges, kids races and even pet and toddler events.
Expected to be the largest Marathon Weekend in event history, with more than 50,000 participants, the event will once again transform downtown Pittsburgh into a citywide celebration of movement and community.
The Pittsburgh Marathon and Half Marathon were recently named among Runner’ s World’ s top spring races for 2026, and the Chick-fil-A Pittsburgh Kids Marathon remains the largest youth running event in the country.
