ASCENSION LUTHERAN CHURCH TO HOST SPECIAL EVENTS IN APRIL
Ascension Lutheran Church , located at 8225 Peebles Road ( 15237 ), will be hosting two special events in April :
Free Spaghetti Dinner Drive-Thru April 15 4 to 7 p . m . Meal includes spaghetti & meatballs , tossed salad , rolls & butter and dessert . Open to the public .
Speaker Series : Children and Technology April 22 6:30 to 8:30 p . m . Kent Rogers , LPT , of Christian Counseling Associates will speak on the psychological aspects of the topic and Reverend Adam Thompson , pastor at Ascension , will speak on the theological aspects . It will be held in Fellowship Hall ( enter at rear of church ). Open to the public . with herbs , vegetables , houseplants , bulbs , potted arrangements , and hanging baskets perfect for Mother ’ s Day gifts .
A basket raffle and bake sale will add to the festivities . The event takes place rain or shine , and proceeds benefit community projects and philanthropic donations of the Shaler Garden Club .

NACSSL REGISTRATION IS OPEN !
Registration for the Northern Allegheny County Senior Softball League ( NACSSL ) is open for 2024 . This is a competitive slow-pitch senior softball league with divisions of ages 50 + and 62 +. Tryout evaluations are held March through April . Games are played May through August primarily at the North Park Senior Ballfield Complex at the North Park Lodge .

NEW RENAISSANCE THEATRE SHOWS
The New Renaissance Theatre announced its “ unscripted ” Shakespearean plays for the 2024 season : “ Much Adoe About Nothing ” and “ Twelfe Night , or What You Will .”
This group performs unrehearsed Shakespeare ( oftentimes with hilarious results !) at open-air spaces all around the Pittsburgh area . This year ’ s tour will run from June 21 through July 14 . Watch the schedule to see where they are performing and catch a free show !

GOLFING FOR DOGS !
No , the dogs won ’ t actually be playing golf , but people can make some dogs ’ lives much better by participating in the Great Pyrenees Charity Golf Tournament !
The tournament is held to benefit the Great Pyrenees Club of Western Pennsylvania , an all-volunteer organization . It ’ s an annual event that brings the community together to help with the rescue and rehabilitation of Great Pyrenees and other giant breeds , their medical expenses and rehoming .
The tournament will be held Aug . 26 at Edgewood Country Club in Churchill . There will be prizes for first , second and third place , as well as skill prizes . In addition to great golf on a lovely course , there will be dinner and a raffle .
