GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE AND
STORMWATER MANAGEMENT
Do you have water issues in your lawn or
foundation after it rains? Are you curious
to learn more about “Green Infrastructure”
and how you could incorporate it on your
property? Join Ann Petrus of Bluebell
Landscape Design on Monday, April 16, at
6:30 p.m. to learn more about water problems
presenting themselves in our area. Everything
from the combined sewer overflows (CSO)
causing environmental damage and creating
economic challenges, to wanting to utilize
water harvesting/water protecting practices
in your landscape will be discussed. Advance
registration is required for this program.
SPRING MAKERSPACE
Shake off those winter blues and celebrate
spring at the library’s Makerspace! Join us
on Tuesday, April 17, 6 to 7 p.m. for crafts
and making, as a variety of simple STEM/art
projects will be offered. This program is for
families and registration is required.

in program and will last until supplies run out.

Monday, May 14, at 6:30 p.m. as he looks at
the natural disasters of our world. He’ll talk
about how they occur, if we are safe here in
Pittsburgh, and what you and your family can
do to prepare for these unexpected events.
There is no charge for this program but

Garden Party: Get together with other
gardeners to talk, trade and have a good
time on Wednesday, May 16, from 7 to 9 p.m.
Bring at least two perennials with you – one
to trade, and one to donate to the library’s
sale. This is a great way to add new plants to
your garden without spending any money.
Refreshments will be served and registration
is required.

THREE SEASONS OF COLOR
Would you like your garden to be in full
color for three seasons of the year? Find out
how to do it as Master Gardener Bill Goff
presents “Perennials in the Garden: Three
Seasons of Color” on Tuesday, May 1, at 6:30
p.m. Via a PowerPoint presentation, Mr. Goff
will look closely at one perennial garden and
how it changes through the growing season.
Suggested plants will be recommended,
and care and maintenance of the perennial
border will also be discussed. Registration is
required.

With flooding and storms seeming to be on
the rise, it’s hard to know if this is just normal
or if the world is coming to an end. Join North
Plant & Garden Sale: Pick up your pre-
ordered plants, or browse a selection of
flowers, vegetables and garden accessories
on Friday, May 18, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and
Saturday, May 19, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
