New Heart Puts Him Back in Rhythm Moses had been living with a heart condition for years. But his symptoms were getting worse, and his doctor said he needed a heart transplant. Finding a donor heart was challenging. His rare blood type meant many of the available donor hearts were not a match. While he waited for the perfect match, his doctors used innovative treatments to help him avoid complications. They helped Moses stay healthy enough so he could wait for his donor heart at home, not in the hospital. It was a long wait. Four years after going on the donor list, a heart became available. And it was a perfect match. With his heart transplant in 2016, Moses recovered fully and hasn’t slowed down since. He threw out the first pitch at a Pirates baseball game in May. Today he’s a passionate advocate for organ donation. #LivingProof
