looking for new members so all age groups in
first through fifth grades are welcome. Pack
195 is also piloting a Kindergarten Program
this year called Lion Cubs. It does not
meet as often as regular dens but is a great
introduction to the full-blown program.
This year all newly registered Scouts will
receive a rod and reel, new tackle pack and
big smiles. This program is highly rewarding
for those who invest in it.

Attention potential Scouts out there in
Hampton Township! With the next school
year starting, it is time for all those interested
in participating in Cub Scouts to find a home.
Luckily, Hampton Township has two local
packs for Cub Scouts to choose from. Both
offer great programs for young boys to learn
important life lessons, build friendships,
experience new adventures and start the
path to Eagle Scout. Pack 13 meets on
Monday evenings at Parkwood Presbyterian
on Mount Royal Boulevard, and Pack 195
meets on Tuesdays nights at St. Catherines
of Sweden Church off Vitullo Drive by the
Wildwood Post Office. The program year
starts in September and ends in May with
summer activities abounding.
Pack 13 had its most recent meeting on
Sept. 11, at Parkwood Presbyterian.
Pack 195 had its most recent meeting
on Sept. 12, in Farmers Hall at St.
Catherines from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The students of the Providence Heights
Alpha School take handwriting lessons as
part of every school day. They study the
Zaner-Bloser method, and this year
kindergarten student Morgan Kane didn’t
just have beautiful handwriting—she had the
best handwriting in the entire state of
Pennsylvania! Morgan won the state level
entry and was awarded a medal. Her teacher,
Sister Diane Dunn, was presented with a
beautiful glass trophy, and the school was
awarded $200. ■
