Greensburg Hempfield Area LIBRARY UPCOMING PROGRAMS Below is a sampling of the programs offered at the Greensburg Hempfield Area Library. A full schedule is located on the website’s Events page. Children’s and Teen Programs Gaming Night (ages 13 and older) Tuesday, Nov. 12, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Love games? Everyone ages 13 and older is invited to bring their favorite tabletop board or card games to the library. Have fun playing one of the library’s games or your own. Want to play D & D? Bring that too! Read to Kaya’s Friends! (ages 3 years and older) Saturday, Nov. 16, from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, from 10 to 11 a.m. This program is for anyone (3 years old and up) who would enjoy or benefit from reading to a therapy dog. Bring along a favorite book or choose from a selection and spend some time reading to the therapy dogs. There is no advance registration for this program, and we will accommodate as many children as possible during the hour. Middle School Maker Monday (ages 11 to 14) Monday, Nov. 18, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Design a Game Monday, Dec. 16, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Nailed It! Tasty Treat Decorating Come experiment with different tools and techniques. Each session will have one main activity as well as other optional maker ideas. Snacks included! 7 p.m. – Regular sale Saturday, Nov. 16, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Bag sale Monday, Nov. 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Bag sale Come out for our biggest book sale yet! I am the gingerbread man! That silly gingerbread man is loose in the library. Follow the clues and trails to find him before the library closes. Real Talk This is a new series of real people giving first-hand accounts of their life experiences. Saturday, Nov. 16, from 2 to 4 p.m. Ken O’Toole is a cancer survivor who wants to tell his story about his journey from a life-threatening illness to his life today. Cooks and Books Wednesday, Nov. 20, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. We will explore new chefs and new cuisines while we make new friends and share experiences, recipes, and laughs over food prepared by our group. November will feature casseroles.
