Percussionist Represents GS in Honors Band Performance G reensburg Salem School District is proud to have been represented by tenth grade student, Gage Redinger, at the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) District 1 Honors Band performance held in November. The festival gathered highly talented musicians from Allegheny, Fayette, Greene, Washington, and Westmoreland counties to perform with guest conductor Dr. Peter Loel Boonshaft, Professor of Music and Director of Bands and Instrumental Conducting at Hofstra University. Gage, along with Greensburg Salem’s middle school and high school Band Director, Jaime West, attended the event, with Gage playing percussion in the band. Over 120 students from 28 schools in western Pennsylvania participated. The mission of PMEA is to advance comprehensive and innovative music education for all students through quality teaching, rigorous learning, and meaningful music engagement. 8th Grade students in Mr. Audia’s class created charcoal drawings of their eyes.
