‘ANNIE’ HITS THE HIGH
NOTES AT THE PALACE
THEATRE
Forty local little girls graced the Palace
Theatre stage when Stage Right presented the
musical ”Annie.”
Stage Right Professional Theatre Company
presented “Annie the Musical” at the Palace
Theatre in Greensburg Nov. 17-19. The
show featured a slew of big-voiced, talented
young ladies, as well as a group of seasoned
professional actors who told the story of
the adorable red-headed orphan with the
indomitable spirit.
Based on the popular Harold Gray comic
strip “Little Orphan Annie,” “Annie the Musical”
features music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by
Martin Charnin and book by Thomas Meehan.
The original Broadway production opened
in 1977 and ran for nearly six years, winning
a Tony Award for Best Musical. The musical

features the best-loved songs “Maybe,” “It’s the

this show,” says Director Tony Marino, of
Greensburg.
The production featured four different
Annies: Laura Stanish, 11, of Connellsville;
Eva Sepp Lypson, 12, of Connellsville; Sydney
Brown, 11, of Monessen; and Avery Federico,
10, of Latrobe.
“It’s hectic being Annie! There is a lot of
things that go on but it’s such a great experience.
I absolutely loved it! Especially being on
stage with all my friends and singing the song
‘Maybe’— I love to sing that song,” Laura said.
“This is an amazing opportunity! It’s just so
