NEOS INCLUSIVE ELECTRONIC PLAYGROUND GRAND OPENING
The grand opening ceremony for the recently installed Neos Inclusive Electronic Playground at Twin Lakes Park took place on Sunday, Dec. 18. The event was open to the public and was held at the Twin Lakes Park Expansion area( the West Recreation Area).
The Neos Inclusive Electronic Playground was donated in part by Alison and Brandon Cox of Greensburg, in memory of their daughter, Hailey. They are the founders and coordinators of the Hailey’ s Angels March for Parks team and have participated in the March for Parks event since 2011.
The Neos Inclusive Electronic Playground combines the fun of electronic games with the explosive movement of aerobic exercise that delivers a workout comparable to soccer or jogging, raising heart rates by an average of 20 percent.
The playground is accessible for visitors of all ages and abilities, improving peripheral vision and auditory and spatial awareness skills with eight games for one or two players.
To access the Neos Inclusive Electronic Playground at Twin Lakes, follow Donohoe Road from the traffic light at Westmoreland Mall. Bear right and continue on Donohoe approximately one mile to a four-way stop( intersection with Georges Station Road). Turn left onto Georges Station Road.
