“Helping at the food bank has
given our students the ability to work
on a variety of employment skills in
preparation for future employment
opportunities,” said Mrs. Dallas-
Stern. Work ethic, time management,
organization and cooperation are just
a few of the skills students develop
through the course of their volunteer work.
When student Devin Carter was
asked what he enjoys most about
volunteering, he reported, “I just like
helping other people out and making a
difference.” The students are proud of
their work at the food bank and excited
to receive the honor of Volunteer Group
of the Year.
“I have witnessed the teamwork
among the students week after week at
the food bank. They enjoy coming here,
knowing they are making a difference,”
stated Louise Wilhelm, Director of
Volunteers and Food Drives. “They are
willing to do whatever is asked of them.
Their amazing staff takes the time to
adapt to their student’s skills and makes
sure the job is done right.”
