Inevitably, on each day, some number of teachers, a school district can expect roughly six percent of their exceed 10 percent. In order to substitute teach in Pennsylvania, a valid Guest Teacher Program, those who hold any bachelor’s degree but were never formally trained to become teachers can quickly earn an “Emergency Permit.” This enables them to substitute teach for one year. Source4Teachers is now collaborating with the Westmoreland Intermediate Unit to provide a Guest Teacher Program. Many applicants are taking advantage of this two-day training course which covers topics such as preparation, classroom management, instructional strategies, professionalism, special education, and PA Department of Education requirements.
