IN Great Valley Spring 2020 - Page 29

ENROLLMENT IN THE GREAT VALLEY SCHOOL DISTRICT IS INCREASING.  Demographic studies show a 3.6% average annual growth district-wide through 2024.  Based on the enrollment projections, we expect to welcome 819 additional students in 5 years. AS THEY ARE, NOT ALL OF OUR SCHOOLS CAN ACCOMMODATE THE EXPECTED GROWTH. The Great Valley School District is currently working with architectural firm, SCHRADERGROUP, to idennfy oppons to accommodate the growth in our school populaaon. These oppons may include new buildings or the reconfiguraaon of our exissng schools. FINANCIAL CONSIDERATIONS  Over the next 10 years, the estimated cost to bring all of the District-owned facilities up to current standard, in today’s dollars, is approximately $97,212,035. This does not include costs related to any renovation or new building.  While the Great Valley Board of School Directors has taken proactive steps in its budgeting to address these needs - while still maintaining the lowest tax rate in Chester County - the taxpayer will make a signiicant investment in our schools.  As we move ahead, your input is critical. GREAT VALLEY TAXPAYERS ARE URGED TO BE A PART OF THE PROCESS. Register your aaendance in advance at WWW.GVSD.ORG/FACILITYMEETINGS or call (610) 889-2100. JOIN US IN A CONVERSATION ABOUT OUR SCHOOLS.
