IN Great Valley Spring 2020 - Page 22

A Message From The Superintendent Of Schools: Dear Great Valley Community Members, As we enter the spring, I am filled with excitement about all the wonderful things to come! Already this year, we have enjoyed so many events in our schools and celebrated so many wonderful student achieve- ments. As we move into the busy spring, there is certainly no shortage of exciting events and happenings in our schools. From musicals and concerts, to art shows and athletic events, our students continue to show- case their abilities and achievements at all levels. At the School Board level, much of our work this past fall and winter was dedicated to a district-wide fea- sibility study about our facilities. We have already seen growth in our student enrollment and our demo- graphic projections show a continued increase through 2024. We need to now think about how our schools will accommodate that growing population and what changes we will need to make to meet the needs of our learners. I am grateful for the community members who participated in at least one of our public meetings around the future of our schools. Additional opportunity exists this spring for you to be involved! Since taxpayer dollars will be used to fund the decisions we make, your input is a critical part of the process. I hope you will join in this important conversation. If the rainy winter has kept you away these last few months, I hope that the spring allows you time to visit our schools. There are many student productions, athletic events, and special oppor- tunities that shouldn’t be missed. I know all of us in Great Valley School District look forward to welcoming you! Enthusiastically, Regina C. Speaker Palubinsky, Ed.D. Superintendent of Schools 20 GREAT VALLEY
