ave you ever wondered for whom O’Hara Township
was named? It was named for an innovator, a U.S. Army
Quartermaster General, a prominent businessman, a
bank president and the mayor of Pittsburgh. Who were all these
amazing people? Actually, it was just one amazing man – James
O’Hara.
Born in Ireland around 1752, O’Hara was educated at the
Jesuit College of Saint-Sulpice, a seminary in Paris, France. His
