Deep Roots in Fox Chapel How Jane Siddons Herrmann Built a Life, Family, and Career in the Community She Calls Home

or Jane Siddons Herrmann, Fox Chapel is far more than the place she works. It is the community where she grew up, raised her family, and built a career helping others find a place to call home.
Born in England, Jane moved to Fox Chapel with her family and quickly became part of the community she still calls home today. She attended Fairview Elementary School, Dorseyville Middle School, and Fox Chapel Area High School, growing up alongside many of the same families and neighbors she continues to see throughout the area.“ It has always been home,” Jane says.“ There is something very special about the sense of community here. People truly care about where they live and they support each other.”
After graduating from Fox Chapel Area High School, Jane attended Denison University where she played collegiate tennis. Her competitive spirit and love of the sport stayed with her long after college. The discipline and determination she developed through athletics would eventually carry into her professional life.
Jane began her career in business as a buyer and manager for May Department Stores and Kaufmann’ s. The experience provided valuable insight into business strategy, customer relationships, and the importance of attention to detail. Those same skills would later translate naturally into her career in real estate. More than twenty years ago Jane made the decision to pursue her real estate license, a move that quickly proved to be the right fit. In her very first year in the business she was named Rookie of the Year.
“ I knew almost immediately that it was the right career for me,” she says.“ It matched my personality and my work ethic, and it allowed me to combine my love of homes with my connection to the community.”
Over the past two decades Jane has built a successful career helping families buy and sell homes throughout the Fox Chapel area. Her deep understanding of the local market, along with her long standing roots in the community, gives her a perspective that few others can offer.
Her appreciation for Fox Chapel extends beyond her work. Jane strongly believes in supporting local businesses and community organizations that help strengthen the area and bring people together. One organization especially close to her heart is the Lauri Ann West Community Center. She has supported the center from its earliest days and believes it has become an important place where families and neighbors gather and connect.
“ Places like that help strengthen a community,” Jane says.“ They bring people together and remind us what makes Fox Chapel such a special place to live.”
Family has always been at the center of Jane’ s life. She raised three children, Riley, Matt, and Haley, in Fox Chapel where they attended Fox Chapel Area schools and grew up surrounded by the same strong community that shaped her own childhood. Today they are building careers of their own, something Jane says is one of her greatest joys.
Jane enjoys spending time with her children and George, Libby and Georgie Thompson. Outside of work Jane enjoys an active lifestyle. She loves playing golf, paddle tennis, attending workout classes, exercising, and walking the dogs. These everyday routines allow her to fully enjoy the lifestyle that has made Fox Chapel such a wonderful place to live and raise a family.
Jane recently completed the renovation of a Fox Chapel home, a project that reflects her natural passion for homes, design, and thoughtful spaces.
She remains deeply grateful for the support of her family throughout her life, especially her parents Ernie and Diane Siddons, whose encouragement helped shape her path. She also feels fortunate to have two wonderful brothers, Ed and David Siddons.
After decades of living and working in the Fox Chapel area, Jane remains deeply appreciative of the community that has played such an important role in her life.
For Jane Siddons Herrmann, Fox Chapel is not simply where she works. It is where her story began, where her family grew, and where she continues helping others find a place to call home.
