A MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT
Dear Fox Chapel Area Community,
Here in the Fox Chapel Area School District, we believe that meaningful success is built through our four pillars of purpose, passion, care, and community. This spring, our district received two extraordinary recognitions that reflect the collective commitment and dedication of our students, families, staff, school board, and broader community.
The Pittsburgh Business Times recently ranked the Fox Chapel Area School District as the No. 1 public school district in both Southwestern Pennsylvania and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This marks the third consecutive year that Fox Chapel Area has earned the top spot in both rankings.
In addition, the Education Scorecard – a joint initiative of Stanford University’ s Educational Opportunity Project and Harvard University’ s Center for Education Policy Research – designated Fox Chapel Area as a“ District On the Rise.” This recognition is awarded to districts improving faster than their peers in both math and reading achievement. Fox Chapel Area is one of only 108 school districts nationwide to receive this distinction. You can read more about both of these achievements in this issue.
While no district’ s impact can ever be fully represented by a ranking or designation, these recognitions affirm the extraordinary work happening in our schools each day. They reflect a district culture grounded in high expectations, continuous growth, innovation, and a deep commitment to doing what is best for children.
The success of the Fox Chapel Area School District is made possible by talented educators and staff members who care deeply about students and about one another. It is strengthened by supportive families, engaged community members, thoughtful leadership, and a school board committed to excellence.
Every day across our district, students are challenged academically, encouraged creatively, supported emotionally, and inspired to grow into compassionate and capable citizens. Whether through academics, arts, athletics, or service learning, our team works tirelessly to create opportunities that help every child thrive.
I am incredibly proud of the work taking place throughout our schools and grateful to everyone who contributes to our shared mission. Thank you for embodying our core values of respect, responsibility, and integrity, and for helping make the Fox Chapel Area School District a place where students flourish.
