Dorseyville Middle School seventh grade
students from Team 7C recently participated in
“birding” as part of community service projects
they performed at Beechwood Farms Nature
Reserve in Fox Chapel Borough. Birding involves
listening and looking for various species of
birds and recording which ones are observed.
Groups identified at least 18 different species
of birds during the activity. Besides birding, the
community service work on April 25 included
invasive plant removal, planting, and pond art
projects (photographs). The photos will be made
into cards and sold at the Beechwood store.
