Gender and educational empowerment
projects in Madagascar will be the topic of
discussion at AAUW’s April membership
meeting. Ms. Gun Holly Hanitrinirina,
who is new to Pittsburgh and currently
works at Family Links as a case manager,
will describe her efforts to bring gender
equity to women and girls in her
native country.
The presentation is open to the public
and free of charge. AAUW advances equity
for women and girls through advocacy,
philanthropy, education and research.

QUILTERS GUILD QUILT
SHOW APRIL 2020
The NPQG quilt show is a biennial
event and will be held April 24, 25 and 26
at the Ross Township Community Center.
This year’s theme is “Log Cabin Fever.”
Over 100 quilts will be displayed along
with a variety of vendors, chances to win
a dream baskets and sewing machines and
a quilt appraiser. Entry submissions are
open to the public for this juried show.
Tickets to win the Log Cabin Raffle Quilt
are being sold by members and available
in local quilt shops. The guild invites you
to join them as a member or a visitor to
enjoy these beautiful handmade quilts. For

PLANT SALE
The Squaw Run Garden Club will
hold its annual plant sale on Saturday,
May 2, at Squaw Valley Park in O’Hara
Township, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. A
wonderful selection of annuals, perennials,
vegetables, herbs, hanging baskets and
planters will be for sale, as well as the

The launch party will showcase her
work and provide entertainment. Bill
Deasy, singer, songwriter and an old
friend, will perform. There will be a tarot
card reader, a local artist painting and a

antique finds for sale. Five higher end
items will be auctioned off with proceeds
going to the Pittsburgh Women’s Center
and Shelter. All are welcome.

Chanceley Wilson Interiors is having an
epic launch party! Though Chanceley
has been decorating houses for 20 years
