TELETHON NETS $45,400 FOR MAKE-A-WISH

ox Chapel Area School District students held
their 29 th annual telethon December 21 and
raised $45,438. This brings the money raised
by Fox Chapel Area students and staff to more
than $854,000 over the last 29 years for various local and
regional charities.
Make-A-Wish is a nonprofit organization dedicated to
fulfilling the wishes of children between the ages of 2½ and
18 who are living with critical illnesses.
For the second year, the telethon raised money for Make-A-
Wish ® Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia, and involved
students and staff from all six schools in the district. The
telethon was planned and produced by the high school student
government and advanced digital media students.

Multimedia teacher Ryan Devlin and his students coordinated the live
video feed during the telethon. The high school principals got into the holiday spirit for one of the
fundraisers.
School Board members Somer Obernauer and Eric Schmidt supported
a student fundraiser for Make-A-Wish. High school teachers Scott Karavlan and Mark Earley participated in
the pie-in-the-face fundraiser.
