families, architects, builders, and many more to build a new
and improved Kerr Elementary School.
The Kerr Elementary students gave up their recess time to
prepare for the presentation, and learned a lot about what the
School Board does. Student Avery Malloy is thankful for the
support the Board gives to the community and that the Board
ensures that the school runs smoothly. “I didn’t realize it, but
they have my food made for lunch, provide books for me,
and educate me,” the fourth-grader said. According to fifth-
grader Aavree Hill, “A school board member’s job is to make
important decisions for schools, create a great education for
students, and make a good environment for teachers, students,
and administrators.”
Additionally, the Dorseyville Middle School violin ensemble
played “The Star-Spangled Banner” to kick off the meeting.
