DMS STUDENTS HONOR SCHOOL BOARD

n honor of School Director
Recognition Month, Dorseyville
Middle School students wanted
to give each of the School
Board members a personal memento.
They used their artistic talents to
create unique handcrafted gifts so that
Board members could feel appreciated
for the time and talents they devote to
the district’s students.
All of the handmade items were
crafted by sixth, seventh, and eighth
grade students and represented what
they learn in art class. This included
pieces from graphic design, digital
photography, ceramics, drawing,
metalwork, jewelry, modern crafts, and
painting.
According to DMS art teacher Nanci
Goldberg, the art department and the
students truly enjoyed creating and
sharing their artworks with the Board.

1 A quartet of DMS eighth-grade orchestra members performed one of their favorite
pieces for the School Board in honor of School Director Recognition Month in January.
2 Members of the DMS Student Government presented each Board member with a
handcrafted gift.
3 Students from the Hartwood Elementary School Fifth Grade Band honored the Board in
February by playing for them prior to the School Board meeting.
