Together, we have accomplished some amazing things. During the 2018-2019 school year alone: •We built a new Kerr Elementary School. •We established a schoolwide police force and implemented tools and initiatives to make this an even safer district. •We developed a new schedule at Dorseyville Middle School that enables our students to spend a bit more time in the core subjects and to choose the electives they enjoy most. •We continued to become even more inclusive as a school district, culminating in recognition by Special Olympics and ESPN. •We celebrated our climb in both local and state rankings, including in the Pittsburgh Business Times and Niche. In addition to all these things, our students continue to excel in academics, arts and music, and athlet- ics, and we continue to provide other activities for students to pursue other interests. Truly, we have built something special together. We have taken this district and student achievement to new heights. However, as we reflect upon the past, we also must look toward the future. As many of you know, I am retiring at the end of this school year. Over the next several months, the School Board will be working to name my successor. I expect that he or she will continue Fox Chapel Area’s rich tradition of excellence. I know that this community expects nothing less. Sincerely, Gene Freeman, Ed.D.
