Bad Art Night
Wednesday, November 8, at 6 p.m.
Come to our Bad Art Night at the
library! Adult artists and those who
fancy themselves artists-in-training will
compete during this drop-in program
to make the worst art projects possible.
Come and make your elementary school
art teacher proud of your terrible art. We
will cast our votes for the top terrible art
of the night. Winner gets bragging rights
and a gift card.
Hatch the Chick Story Time

Homestead Phil from Hatch the Chicken
will be here to deliver our incubator with
eggs. He will do a short tutorial about
baby chicks and what to watch for during
the 5 weeks the chicks are here at the

The lovely Arnold’s Tea from Pittsburgh’s
North Side will be catering our Afternoon
High Tea. Each attendee will enjoy a pot
of tea, delectable scones with authentic
clotted crème and assorted jams, delicate
tea sandwiches and petite sweets. $12.

Chess Demos
Sundays, November 5 and 12, at 2 p.m.
Join local chess master Gabriel Petesch to
learn and improve your chess game. After
the lesson, students can challenge each
other (or Gabriel!) to a game of chess. All
skill levels welcome. Ages 6-14.
Decorate a Mini-Gingerbread House

Amazing Library Race
Monday, December 1, at 7 p.m.
Based on “The Amazing Race” television
show. Kids in teams of 2 will attempt to
complete “Road Blocks” and “Detours”
based on the 10 subject classifications
of the Dewey Decimal System. The team
with the most points at the end of the
game wins.
Homemade Holiday Cards
Sunday, December 3, at 2 p.m.
Use your imagination to make beautiful
holiday cards! Enjoy hot chocolate and
