I
f anyone knows the Fox Chapel Area like the back of her
hand, it’s Berkshire Hathaway’s Jane Siddons Herrmann.
She came to Fox Chapel from England with her family
when she was elementary school age and completed her education
in the Fox Chapel Area School District prior to attending Denison
University, where she majored in English and was captain of women’s
tennis. After college, she returned to Fox Chapel and has remained
there ever since.
Nearly 20 years ago she began selling real estate in the area,
supplanting a successful career as a retail buyer for Kaufman’s
Department Store Group, after having taken a break from business
to care for her three children until they were school age. Herrmann
said that it is her intimate knowledge of the area and her ability to
put herself in the buyers’ shoes that keeps clients coming back to her
multiple times.
“I love working with all different kinds of people, from first-time
homebuyers to people downsizing and everyone in between,”
Herrmann said. “And while the technology has gotten better over
the years, and I’ve integrated that into the way I work to the fullest,
I am still dealing with clients in the same way as I have been doing
since day one: treating them as I would want to be treated myself,
understanding that buying or selling a house is an enormous
undertaking and recognizing that it involves one of the largest assets
that clients will ever have—and also recognizing that it can be a very
emotional time for all concerned.”
And while she calls Fox Chapel home, Herrmann has represented
buyers and sellers in the neighboring areas of Oakmont,Hampton,
Shadyside,Squirrel Hill,Point Breeze, Regent Square,
Downtown,Oakland, North Hills areas and more.

Fox Chapel area, a national real estate recognition. And Herrmann

Herrmann’s children were educated in the Fox Chapel Area School
District, where as a parent she was a member of the PTO and heavily
involved in both volleyball and soccer. Her youngest daughter is a
freshman at Ohio State University, her son is a junior at Penn State
University and her elder daughter recently graduated from Duke.
