Welcome to the fall issue of IN Fox Chapel Area
magazine.
As the summer ushers in fall, each season of life also
brings change and new experiences. I’m realizing the house
is a little quieter this fall, as our middle son, Brenden, is
off to college—and our youngest, Tyler, has started eighth
grade. It’s a change for all of us, but we are excited for this
new chapter in Brenden’s life.
Autumn brings a kaleidoscope of color to western
Pennsylvania as well as some of the best community events of the year—fall festivals! Every
October, my wife and I look forward to the fall festivities in our community to pick out our
pumpkins and enjoy fresh apple cider, caramel corn, caramel apples and homemade pies.
Another fall family tradition is our annual trek to Hundred Acres Manor in Bethel Park or the
ScareHouse in Etna. There’s nothing like a good haunted house to start the Halloween season.
We hope you will take some time to read this issue packed with the latest township and
school information as well as articles about the people and places in your community. Be sure
to check out our Fall Festival Guide with dozens of fun, family festivities right in your own
backyard.
