SENECA VALLEY AND MARS AREA REPRESENTED PENNSYLVANIA IN NATIONAL MASCOT SHOWDOWN
This spring, Seneca Valley’ s Cranberry Junior / Senior High School and Mars Area High School brought their school spirit to the national stage as participants in“ The64,” a national high school mascot tournament.
The online competition, which began April 24, featured 64 high school mascots from across the country battling it out for the title of Best High School Mascot— along with a cash prize for their school.
Seneca Valley was represented by the Cranberry Berries, while Mars Area had its beloved Fightin’ Planets. The tournament engaged fans through bracket-style matchups— allowing students, alumni and supporters to vote every three days as mascots advanced through the rounds.
“ This mascot rivalry isn’ t just a competition— it’ s a national celebration of school pride and community spirit,” said Justin Woo, founder of The64.
The 18-day event gave local communities a chance to rally behind their schools and celebrate their unique identities— proving that mascot pride runs deep in Western Pennsylvania.
