SENECA VALLEY CLASS OF 2017 VALEDICTORIAN URVI GUPTA RECEIVES MULTIPLE NATIONAL ACCOLADES AS SHE SETS HER SIGHTS ON A BRIGHT FUTURE.

Cranberry Township’ s Urvi Gupta is a winner. As a graduating senior from Seneca Valley Senior High School, Urvi received her diploma as the school’ s valedictorian— and that’ s only one of the accolades she’ s received this year. She’ s also been named a Coca-Cola Scholar, Carson Scholar and National Merit Scholar, and has earned the NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing, P. E. O. Star Scholarship, Cranberry Rotary Scholarship and a perfect ACT score.
Urvi, the daughter of Rajeev and Minoo Gupta, has been very involved academically, extracurricularly and throughout her community for the past several years. At Seneca Valley, she was the president of Students Against Destructive Decisions( SADD) and the Academic Games. She was also co-president of the Medical Careers Club and a part of the National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, Mock Trial, Model UN, computer programming competitions and peer tutoring.
In the community, Urvi has been a hospital volunteer with UPMC, a library volunteer, and has helped the Cranberry Area Diversity Network with events like the Food and Folk Festival and the Spotlight on Mental Health Series.
“ Seneca Valley has provided me with amazing opportunities, both academically and in extracurricular activities,” says Urvi.“ I love the flexibility available in choosing course schedules, as it allowed me to explore more subject areas since I was not limited to a traditional course load.”
