HOWARD HANNA’S
Carissa Sitterly
I
f you’re looking to buy or sell a home in the Cranberry/Mars area,
you probably already know how fluid the market is. With easy
access to downtown Pittsburgh, neighboring office parks and
a nexus of the most travelled highways in Western Pennsylvania,
the market is faster than perhaps any other in the Pittsburgh
Metropolitan area.
Howard Hanna’s Carissa Sitterly can help you navigate this
fast‑moving market because she’s been in the thick of it for so long.
“Real estate is in my blood. My grandmother always had rental
properties and I’d go along with her, collecting the rent. I learned
about sales from my father who was a top car salesman for many
years. After he retired from sales he managed rental properties”
she said. “Personally, my family and I have moved multiple times, so
I’ve been in my client’s shoes. I’ve had to move quickly and I’ve had
to move across country into areas where I’m not familiar with the
schools or community. In a 10 year span, I lived in four states.”
When Sitterly finally took the plunge to become a Howard Hanna
Realtor, she jumped in with both feet, being a Million‑Dollar producer
her first year. The following year, she was a Multi‑Million Dollar
producer, and eventually earned the title of Champion for company
sales.
She attributes that success to listening to her clients and bending
over backwards to accommodate their needs, whether they are
buying or selling a home.
“I am a full service realtor,” she said. “And the key to serving the
client best is to listen to what they want at the outset. Do they want
a quick sale or a high price for selling their home? If they’re buying,
what’s important to them? Do they want quality schools or an easy
commute to work? If you find out what’s important to them, you can
do a better job finding it for them and alleviate a lot of their stress.”
That focus on what the client wants is all the more important in the
Cranberry market because the inventory of homes is so in demand.
“People are having difficulty finding houses,” she said. “There are
an excess of buyers for very few properties. Everybody’s moving here
for the jobs in the medical and education field. You have to be poised
to act as soon as the moment presents itself on behalf of your clients.
With this being my home base, and by knowing the market inside
and out, I have the capability to lock into something the instant it
comes up for my clients.”
Aside from spending time with her family in her downtime, Sitterly
is a co chair of the Howard Hanna Free care fund, which sponsors
patients of Children’s Hospital, providing them and their families with
a place to stay, free of charge, while they are in town for medically
necessary procedures.
