Physician-led, innovative treatment A concussion is a brain injury that can come from a direct blow to the head or a sudden deceleration without any contact, such as whiplash. It often occurs after a sports injury, fall, or car accident. Allegheny Health Network has one of the few physician-led concussion programs in western Pennsylvania. With the latest techniques, our skilled experts get to the bottom of troubling symptoms and coordinate therapy so patients can get well and return to their lives. At the Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion, patients of all ages can have concussion evaluation. They receive physical, occupational, vestibular (balance), cognitive, and speech therapy as needed, according to their own personalized recovery plan.
