By evolving the business to suit the needs of the parents they serve, A Kid’s Place has one of the most flexible programs available and was a pioneer of the 2-year-old preschool model. “We kind of invented the two-year-old program and were the first to have a pre-preschool program because our parents wanted to see a program like that for their children,” Sowa said. “Our parents have helped us grow into what we are today to meet their needs.” In addition to a unique approach to childcare, A Kid’s Place also boast some of the most tenured staff you can find when it comes to childcare programming. Most of their staff—eight members in all—have been with A Kid’s Place for eight to 16 years. They all have required clearances and most are certified teachers or have degrees in human services. Chris, who has been with A Kid’s Place for 13 years, said she loves the everyday interactions with the kids. “I love to hear the funny stories that come from the kids,” she said. Dina, who will celebrate a decade with A Kid’s Place in September, echoed that sentiment. 28 724.942.0940 TO ADVERTISE | Cranberry “I enjoy making conversations with 1 and 2-year-olds. Every day there is a different story,” she said. “Working with children keeps you young!” Lynn, who’s been there for five years, said she loves the joy and laughter the kids bring to the center every day. And preschool teacher Alissa, who’s been with A Kid’s Place for the past 15 years, said she’s still awed by seeing learning happen up close with the kids. “When our kids learn something new, I can see in their faces how proud they are of themselves,” she said. A Kid’s Place is divided by age groups, with infants having their own room for care. Ages are divided into a 1 and 2-year-old section, 3-year-olds, and 4-and 5-year- olds. All children are required to have proof of immunization before they can enroll. Enrollment forms are available online and parents are always welcome to schedule a tour of the facility to learn more.
