PENN CHRISTIAN
ACADEMY’S ANNUAL
HARVEST GALA: WHERE
GENEROSITY AND
PREPARATION COLLIDE
This October, soft music and hors d’oeuvres
will kick-off the evening for Penn Christian
Academy’s (PCA’s) annual Harvest Gala in
the elegant ballroom of The Butler Country
Club. Along with dinner, the evening will
feature silent and live auction—with items
all donated by local and regional supporters.
Items include weekend excursions to Disney,
sports memorabilia, jewelry and furniture. In
addition, the “Buy it Now” tree provides items
for immediate purchase.
Individual seats may be reserved and local
businesses and friends can sponsor tables
of 10. Dinner speakers include PCA alumni
who will share their eventful journeys. An
array of desserts (including gluten free) are
donated by Pennie’s Bakery and Thomas’ Fine
Chocolates.
PCA’s motto is “Preparing Young Leaders
for Life.” The academy integrates a Christian
worldview with a first-rate education that
meets or exceeds benchmarks for state
licensure. Setting it apart are distinctive
programs such as its science lab, technology
lab, global learning lab, leadership training and
gifted and enrichment courses. Specialized
learning support and a reading assistance
program allow students to achieve higher
learning levels.
By experiencing their God-given potential
within a stellar academic program, PCA
students learn and apply Biblical values and
truths that will guide them as they become
the leaders of tomorrow.

ROSE YMCA BLOOD
PRESSURE MONITORING
PROGRAM
The Million Hearts campaign was launched
in 2012 by the U.S. Department of Health and
Human Services with the goal of preventing
one million heart attacks and strokes by 2017.
As part of this effort to prevent
cardiovascular disease, the Y-USA designed
a program to reduce participants’ blood
pressure based on the successful “ Check It,
Change It” research study. The YMCA’s Blood
Pressure Self-Monitoring Program supports
adults with high blood pressure in developing

pressure management through personalized
support.
The BPSM evidence-based program is a
four-month program designed to help adults
