Celebrating its 40th anniversary, CTCC continues to promote community volunteer and nonprofit efforts in Cranberry.

For 40 years, Cranberry Township Community Chest( CTCC) has been an instrumental organization in ensuring the livelihood and growth of the Cranberry community through volunteer and nonprofit efforts.
The CTCC was started by the Cranberry Rotary in 1976 in an effort to raise money for the Fire Company, Ambulance Service and Library as opposed to holding individual fundraisers for each organization. The CTCC sent envelopes to every home in Cranberry and received a 60 percent response in donations.
As Cranberry grew, the township knew it could not continue to grow the Volunteer Fire Company with donations alone, so in 1985 a dedicated fire tax was implemented, followed by a library tax in 1989.
With these changes, the mission of CTCC began to focus on raising money for other community entities.
In 2006, township officials met with the CTCC board and suggested they focus on nonprofit and community organizations.
Today, CTCC operates under a three-tiered mission: build healthier communities by encouraging businesses and residents to volunteer and / or support one of the more than 40 nonprofit groups; promote events of nonprofit and civic groups, exposing more residents to their causes; and seed new community projects.
