CHARTIERS VALLEY
STUDENTS SEARCH FOR
THE STORIES OF LOCAL
VETERANS
Chartiers Valley High School students
Jordan Callahan, Abby Chidlow, Rachel
Chidlow, Miranda Griffith, Jake Holland,
Rachel Jacobs, Ellen Murphy and Joe Verduci
are currently researching Chartiers Valley
graduates who lost their lives in the Vietnam
War.
In addition to using books and the internet
to research the stories of these veterans,
the students are requesting help from our
community. If you are a relative or friend of
a veteran listed below, please contact them
to share their story. The students can be
reached at [email protected] or
412.429.3721.
Names that will be memorialized on the
plaque

This is the third year a group of Chartiers
Valley students has taken the time to research
our local veterans and share their stories
with our school and our community. During
the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 school years,
groups of students researched veterans from
our community who lost their lives in World
War II and the Korean War. And, this year,
students are researching veterans from our
community who served and lost their lives in
the Vietnam War.
On Friday, May 27, at 10 a.m., Chartiers
Valley will host a dedication ceremony to
honor the sacrifice our local veterans have
made for our country. It would like to invite
all veterans in our community to attend this
ceremony, and extend an invitation to the
descendents of those memorialized on the
plaque to attend and be recognized in honor
of their loved one.
Please contact the students at 412.429.3721
or [email protected] if you have
any information about the local veterans listed
above, or if you know of another veteran who
attended Chartiers Valley and lost his/her life
in the Vietnam War.
