What’s news in Carlynton-Montour Sts. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church 15th Annual Holiday Cookie Walk The St. Matrona Sisterhood of Sts. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church announced that its 15th Annual “Cookie Walk” will be held Saturday, Dec. 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cookies and specialty pastries will fill the church hall located on Mansfield Boulevard in Carnegie (just off the 79 exit at Carnegie). Some featured cookies will include nut crescents, fruit-filled kolache, Ukrainian truffles, Italian rum balls, almond cookies, Hamantaschen and Russian tea cakes along with hundreds of beautifully decorated holiday favorites. Nut rolls, lady locks, biscotti, pizzelles and gluten-free cookies will also be available. Cookies will be sold by the pound. Proceeds from the Cookie Walk enable the St. Matrona Sisterhood to continue maintenance and beautification projects of the church, as well as support many community outreach programs. Please mark your calendars for Saturday, Dec. 8, and join the hundreds of Pittsburghers who have already made this event a holiday family tradition. For further information, call Sherri at 412.276.2768, or Alexis at 724.348.7326, or email [email protected]. ‘Christmas in Crafton’ House Tour Tickets On Sale Now “Crafton Reimagined” is the theme for the 2018 Christmas in Crafton House Tour on Dec. 9 from 1 to 6 p.m. Eight decorated homes reimagined for 21st century living will be on the annual tour this year. Tickets are $15 in advance during regular business hours at the Crafton borough office, the Crafton Public Library, and D&O Wine Cellar on West Crafton Avenue, as well as online at Crafton.org using PayPal. Checks can be made to Crafton Borough. Day-of-tour tickets will be $20 and will be available at the tour’s first stop, D&O Wine Cellar, where tour programs will be available. Gingerbread House Making, mini-golf with Santa, and Light-up Night... all on Dec. 1 It’s that merry time of year and Crafton will be the place to be on Saturday, Dec. 1. Children can make a gingerbread house in the Crafton Community Center at 10 a.m. You must sign up in advance at the Crafton Public Library front desk. No walk-ins. The cost is $5 and an adult must accompany the child (no charge for adult). There will be light refreshments and a small gift for each child. Space is limited and usually sells out, so sign up now. Later in the day, starting at 4 p.m., Santa will be at the Crafton Mini-Golf on Steuben Street, where all proceeds will benefit the Crafton-Ingram Food Bank and non- perishables will also be collected. There will be hot chocolate and grilled hot dogs for all. At dusk, the lights will illuminate and the Christmas tree will be lit for the first time! Come and join in the Light-up Night Festivities and get a selfie with Santa.
