STS. PETER & PAUL UKRAINIAN 13TH ANNIVERSARY HOLIDAY COOKIE WALK
The St. Matrona Sisterhood of Sts. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church will hold its 13th Annual“ COOKIE WALK” Saturday, Dec. 10, from 10 a. m. to 2 p. m. Cookies and specialty pastries will fill the church hall, which is located on Mansfield Boulevard in Carnegie, just off the I-79 exit at Carnegie.
Some of the featured cookies will include nut crescents, fruit-filled kolache, Ukrainian truffles, Italian rum balls, almond cookies, Hamentaschen and Russian tea cakes along with hundreds of beautifully decorated holiday favorites. Nut rolls, lady locks, biscotti, pizzelles and gluten-free cookies will also be available. The assortment will amaze you! Cookies will be sold by the pound.
Proceeds from the“ Cookie Walk” enable the Sisterhood to continue its maintenance and beautification projects of the church, a Pittsburgh National Landmark Building, as well as support many community outreach programs.

CREATIVE IMPACT: SHOWCASE OF STUDENT DESIGN WORK THROUGH JANUARY 30, 2017
Pittsburgh Technical College announced the opening of a new exhibition titled CREATIVE IMPACT: Showcase of Student Design Work. The show features student projects in Video Production, Web Development, Computer Aided Drafting and Graphic Design from the School of Design at PTC. The exhibition runs through Jan. 30, 2017, in the PTC Showcase located on the lower level of The Mall at Robinson.
Visitors can enjoy an overview of the project-based learning experiences involved in studying for careers in design, video, drafting and web. Projects include sample designs, product packaging, responsive websites, video commercials, photography and mechanical CAD illustrations.
“ This exhibit is a great opportunity to recognize outstanding student work. Students appreciate the opportunity to share their work in a public forum as they prepare to embark on their careers,” says Laurie Tudor, PTC’ s Art Director and curator of PTC Showcase.
The School of Design offers associate degree programs in Graphic Design, Architectural Drafting, Mechanical Drafting, Video Production and Web Design / Development. Students are prepared for entry-level positions across many industries including advertising, design, broadcasting, entertainment, engineering, retail, health care, education, construction, oil and gas, manufacturing, transportation, communications and architecture.
PTC Showcase: A Gallery of Art, Technology and Industry is a unique partnership designed to recognize student career preparation and creative achievements, and acknowledge the encouragement students receive from faculty and staff. PTC Showcase is located inside The Mall at Robinson, Entry C, on the lower level near Macy’ s.
CELEBRATE THE 4TH ANNUAL‘ SOUTH HILLS LIGHTS’
Chabad of the South Hills and South Hills Jewish Pittsburgh present the 4th Annual South Hills Lights Community Chanukah Celebration at the Galleria Mt. Lebanon on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2nd Level near the fountain. The evening will begin at 6 p. m., with the lighting of a 12-foot Menorah.

CIGNA RECEIVES LIVE WELL ALLEGHENY WORKPLACE DESIGNATION
The Allegheny County Health Department( ACHD) announced that Cigna, a global health services company with offices in Pittsburgh, is among the newest Live Well Allegheny Workplaces. Dr. Shadrach Jones, Medical Director at Cigna, accepted the designation at the Cigna Healthcare Center in Robinson Township.
“ I’ m thrilled to have Cigna join our effort to become the healthiest county through the Live Well Allegheny initiative,” said County Executive Rich Fitzgerald.“ As more and more organizations, companies, municipalities and school districts become part of this campaign, we also see more and more commitments from individuals who want to be healthier and live healthier. Together, we continue to have a significant impact on the health of our community.”
The announcement took place at the Cigna Employee Health Fair. There were informational sessions discussing a variety of ways for employees to manage their health. The sessions included speakers on the employee assistance program, health coaches and dieticians.
“ Live Well Allegheny aims to help people gain the tools needed to incorporate healthy habits in all aspects of their lives,” said Dr. Karen Hacker, Director of the Allegheny County Health Department.“ I commend Cigna for implementing programs to help their employees be healthy and productive.”
To be designated as a Live Well Allegheny Workplace, Cigna has committed to the following action steps to support the health and wellness of its employees:
