A beloved local candy shoppe is the dream of lifetime Carnegie resident, Nina Midgley Kelman. BY PAMELA PALONGUE
When Nina and her parents took over My Favorite Sweet Shoppe in 2014, they had no previous business experience and received very little direction from the shoppe’ s previous owners. What they did have, was a great recipe, and Nina’ s experience of making homemade chocolates and baked goods with her grandmother. In fact, the store still uses some of her grandmother’ s chocolate molds for their creations.
The proof is in the pudding, or in this case the candy, and the shoppe’ s reputation for greattasting treats grew and began to draw visitors from all over the region.
“ I will always love seeing happy customers in our shoppe, especially the little kiddos!” says Nina.“ We
