In the hallways of Canon-McMillan High School , a spirit of competition and intellectual pursuit echoes , especially within its academic competition team . This group of bright , young minds recently made their mark at the Southwestern Academic League competition held at Burgettstown High School , showcasing their knowledge and teamwork .
Divided into two dynamic groups , the varsity and junior varsity teams , each brings its unique strengths and skills to the table . Within the next month , both teams will be advancing to a competition hosted at Canon-McMillan High School , in which multiple schools will test their knowledge .
These students are not just involved in the realms of academic leagues ; they also participate in a series of television quizzes . A handful of Canon- McMillan ’ s talented group recently appeared on the Hometown KD Quiz show on KDKA . Competing against teams from Plum and Yough , Canon- McMillan students ’ clinched first place in the event . Their victory has paved the way for the team to advance to the playoff round in the spring .
