At Frank Sarris Public Library ( FSPL ), we think it ’ s “ ice ” to bring winter cheer to our community . We are excited to announce that , thanks to a Washington Community Cares Fund grant , our website , www . franksarrislibrary . org , has a new look !
Our redesigned website is easy to navigate , especially our new online event calendar . Website visitors can view the calendar and see every current and upcoming event or narrow their selections down to see only events designated for kids , teens , adults , and families . Our new alert bar allows our staff to better communicate service changes to the community . We have also included a “ New Book ” bar on our home page , so our patrons can stay up-to-date about new releases available at our location . Our website is only a mouse click away , so check us out today .
During those freezing nights , you can curl up with a great selection anytime , anywhere thanks to Hoopla and Libby , our e-reader apps . Hoopla is a one-stop shop for your streaming digital media needs . Collections included on this platform are Comics , Puzzles , Music , TV Series , Movies , Audiobooks , and eBooks in all genres and age groups . Libby has eBooks , audiobooks , and magazines .
All checked items on both apps automatically return themselves , so there are never any late fees . Both apps are free to download through your device ’ s app store . Hoopla is exclusive to patrons who registered Frank Sarris Public Library as their home library on their WAGGIN account . If patrons ever need to change their home library , contact our circulation desk staff .
As we celebrate the coming of a new year , it ’ s important to remember the past — and FSPL can help with that ! Power Library is Pennsylvania ’ s electronic library with access to various newspapers , magazines , professional journals , historical documents and photographs , online databases , and eBooks . Resources are available for all ages ; all you need is your library card to get started .
FSPL also offers access to Ancestry . com as an in-house online resource . You
can make family trees and discover ancestors by searching through census , marriage , immigration , death , birth , and military records . Please note that this free resource may only be accessed using the public computers within the library . Staff can assist patrons in using this incredible tool .
Among a catalog of 600 courses , Universal Class offers an online class on genealogy . You can access all of the free educational courses anywhere anytime through Wi-Fi connection . Universal Class is exclusive to patrons who registered Frank Sarris Public Library as their home library on their WAGGIN account . Contact our circulation desk staff if you need assistance .
