The North Strabane and Peters Township
Collaborated for the first ever Citizens Fire
Academy. The Academy was designed to give
residents of both communities a glimpse into what
firefighters may encounter.
The program, which covers 7 weeks with the
group of 14 cadets meeting each Wednesday to
cover a different topic. The Topics include;
• Introductions, Department Structure,
Operational Overview
• Engine Company Operations
• Truck Company Operations
• Rescue Company Operations
• 911 Operations Center visit
• Medical Responses and CPR Training
• Graduation November 20th
The program designed by Captain Tim Liedl
of the North Strabane Fire Department and
Lieutenant Jordan Cramer of the Peters Township
Fire Department has been a huge success with not
only the students learning a lot but the instructors
as well. We are already looking forward to the
second academy in 2020, so please watch our
Facebook page for updates!
